To internationalize the department and enhance students’ global perspectives, the Department of Information Technology and Science arranged for students Yang Bingzhang and Chang Youzheng to study overseas at Sunway University in Malaysia for four months. Bingzhang and Youzheng chose the Department of Computing and Information Systems, which is closely related to the nature of our department, as their place of study. Through this arrangement, students experienced multicultural living and learned the operational models of education in different countries, adapting early to the trend of industrial globalization.
為體現本系國際化並提升系學生全球視野，智科系安排楊秉錡、張祐証二位學生前往馬來西亞雙威大學(Sunway University)進行為期四個月的海外學習，秉錡與祐証選擇了與本系性質相近的計算與資訊系統學系(Department of Computing and Information Systems)作為其研修的地方，透過這個安排，學生體驗多元文化的生活，並學習不同國家教育之運作模式，提早適應產業全球化變遷之趨勢。
Bingzhang and Youzheng chose four professional courses to study: Concurrent Programming, Data System Fundamentals, Computer Security, and Networking Principles. As the university conducts all courses in English, Bingzhang and Youzheng had to listen attentively in class, take diligent notes, and spend much time discussing with classmates after class in order to complete assignments and reports. This learning experience tremendously expanded their perspectives.
The native language in Malaysia is Malay. There are also English, Mandarin, Tamil and other minority languages. Overall, Malay is still the most widely used language. However, 95% of people still use English to communicate. In terms of religious beliefs, most Malays believe in Islam, with Muslims visible everywhere. Regarding cuisine, the flavors there are heavier compared to Taiwan, with most people enjoying spicy food. Bingzhang and Youzheng felt that the local drinks and cuisines were novel and could adapt to them, being very satisfied with the local food culture.
After one semester as exchange students, Bingzhang and Youzheng felt academically more challenging. But regarding the local environment and architecture, they were full of curiosity. Despite being in a foreign land, the locals were very friendly, providing lots of assistance while allowing them to make many friends. Bingzhang and Youzheng believe they gained tremendously from this study trip, broadening their horizons and perspectives on globalization.
秉錡與祐証選擇專業研修的課程有Concurrent Programming、Data System Fundamentals、Computer Security、Networking Principles 四門。因該校為全英語教學，秉錡與祐証上課時需專心聽講並勤作筆記，下課後亦需花很多時間與同學討論，才能完成作業及報告，這樣的學習經驗讓他們的視野頓時擴大不少。
秉錡與祐証做了一學期的交換生，覺得在課業上覺得較吃力外，對當地的環境、建築物都充滿了各種好奇，雖然是處於異域，但是當地的人很友善，給予他們很多的協助，也同時結交了許多好友，秉錡與祐証認為此研修之行收獲很大，開闊了胸襟，也增廣了全球化的視野。
