On October 7th, the College of Innovative Studies and Advancement organized a joint volunteer activity for 9 departments in Xinping Li, Shuili Town, Taichung City. Students from the Departments of Food Science, Hospitality, Beauty Art, Early Childhood Education, Cultural Creativity, Leisure and Recreational Sports, Communicative English, Tourism, and Cosmetics used their professional knowledge to design interactive teaching tools or games and interacted with the public through booths. Through this event, the students gave back their professional knowledge to the society.
民生創新學院於10月7日在台中市水湳新平里舉辦9系聯合志工活動，食科系、餐旅系、美髮系、幼保系、文創系、運休系、溝通英語系、多遊系與妝品系學生，運用等知識結合互動的教具或遊戲，並以攤位的方式與民眾互動，藉由此次活動將各系所學的專業知識回饋給社會。
This event was jointly held with the Shuin Li Xinping Senior Citizen Activity. The village chief is an alumnus of the university and his son is also a graduate of the Department of Cosmetics. The experiential activities of each department attracted enthusiastic participation from local residents and visitors. Through activity design and participation, the core values of cherishing life, caring for others, and pursuing justice were put into practice, achieving the goal of “encouraging students to strengthen the application of professional knowledge and the practice of altruistic values through learning by doing and reflective thinking”.
The College of Innovative Studies and Advancement emphasizes that the purpose of the college is to serve people, care for society, improve people’s quality of life and health protection. It not only enriches the physical and mental health of teachers and students, but also nurtures professionals with aesthetic appreciation, teamwork, enthusiastic service, optimism, progressiveness, knowledge economy, international perspectives and vision for the future. Therefore, through the planning and coordination of the Department of Cosmetics student association, students from various departments utilized their professional knowledge to design service booths or stations and provide public welfare services to give back to the community.
此次活動與台中水湳新平里敬老活動聯合辦理，里長為本校系友、里長兒子也是妝品畢業生，各系體驗活動吸引居民及遊客熱情參與，透過活動設計與參與，實踐熱愛生命、行善關懷、追求正義等的品德核心價值，達到「鼓勵學生從『做中學、學中思』，以強化專業知識的應用與關懷利他價值的實踐」目標。
